Got Vamp?

My blue, blue eyes
I admit that I am a die-hard “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fan (the TV series, SO not the movie). I even had a “Got Blood?” bumper sticker on my first car. I can relate to the public’s and media’s obsession with the topic, but seriously, the “Twilight” series? Give me a break!

Having not read the books based on this movie franchise, I cannot rightly say if they SUCK (pardon the pun, REALLY). However, I did view the first movie and was left feeling cold and not feeling the supposed love between the vamp and the human. Not at all. Actually, I felt disappointed. This was not the “Buffy and Angel” passionate, realistic feeling love that I was accustomed to. I felt cheated.

However, I do find some solace in the CW’s new series, “The Vampire Diaries.” I was ready to dismiss the show immediately but became drawn in by the various characters and their different “other-worldly” issues. It seems to me that this MAY be a replacement in my lonely heart for “Buffy.”  There are good vamps, bad (majorly HOT) vamps and vamps willing to love humans. Cannot ask for more, except maybe for the “Scooby Gang” from “Buffy.”

It’s obvious that I need to move on.
