Top 10 Things Coal Region High School Grads Should Do This Summer

10. Volunteer Work/Community Service (Looks good on a resume!)

9. Travel (Hit the road like Jack Kerouac)

8. Drink mass quantities of beer and go on silly drunken valley rides (We know you will anyway – had to include it)

7. Martial Arts training (Why not? Ninjas are so in!)

6. Break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend if you’re leaving for college (Long-distance relationships suck & don’t last. And you’re bound to hook up with someone at your school within a week)

5. Give some thought to what you REALLY want to do in your life. You may not have all the answers now, but don’t lose sight of who you want to be.

4. Learn to play an instrument (chicks dig musicians, girls who jam are cool)

3. Keep a journal or diary (In case you get famous — it could eventually be worth serious $$!)

2. Spend time with your loved ones (You’ll be glad you did)

1. Drink a milkshake every day (Did you ever see anyone frowning while drinking a milkshake? Of course not — they’re delish!)

About

William S. is a former and current Coal Regioner (who has seen the great beyond...) living in Shamokin. He has two singular daughters, the best dog in the world, and most of the time his sanity. When he's not designing websites or blogging, William plays acoustic guitar until his fingers bleed and fiendishly devours sour patch kids at an alarming rate.
